AI DevCamp Notes: Journey into the World of Artificial Intelligence

I started taking AI courses last year and focused on developing myself, especially in the field of “prompt engineering”. When setting my goals for this year in December 2023, I had planned to develop myself more in AI and use AI in a project. I came across a post about GDG London’s AlDevCamp on LinkedIn by chance and applied immediately.
When I was accepted to the program, I didn’t have an idea of what I would learn, but I was so open to receiving all kinds of information! I was eagerly waiting to dive into the world of AI and I had no idea that it would lead me to the beginning of a great story.
We completed the third week of the training this week. I listened to every lesson with great admiration every week and took many notes. When many of my friends said they wanted to learn about this topic, I thought I could share what I learned by writing an article each week.
What I have learned so far has opened my horizons in AI, I hope it will be useful for you and you will enjoy reading it.
Let’s get started!
Understanding Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) enables computers and other machines to think and act like humans. This means computers can perform tasks such as learning, problem-solving, decision-making, and understanding language.
Examples of AI in Daily Life
- Smartphones: Voice assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa are examples of AI. When you ask, “What’s the weather today?” they understand your voice, fetch the weather information from the internet, and respond to you.
- Recommendation Systems: Platforms like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify use AI to suggest new content based on what you’ve previously watched or listened to. These systems analyze your preferences to recommend other content you might enjoy.
- Automatic Translation: Tools like Google Translate use AI to translate text from one language to another, thanks to their language processing capabilities.
- Autonomous Vehicles: Self-driving cars use AI to perceive their surroundings, obey traffic rules, and drive safely. These…
