In Week 3 of AlDev Camp, we delved into deep learning, building on the data and concepts covered in the first two weeks to make this complex topic more comprehensible.

First of all, our mentors focused on the topic: “What is the difference between artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning?

Let’s examine the differences together:

What is the difference between artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning?

Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) are terms often used interchangeably but represent different levels of abstraction and capabilities.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)
AI is the broadest term. It encompasses any technique or system that enables machines to mimic human intelligence. AI includes abilities such as reasoning, learning, problem-solving, perception, and language understanding. For example, a computer playing chess develops strategies based on the opponent’s moves. Similarly, voice assistants (like Alexa and Siri) can inform you about the weather, play music, or answer questions. Autonomous vehicles can travel safely by perceiving road conditions and traffic.
